Change of plans

We made it back to Norris by about 1 p.m., stopping in Livingston for a few groceries (later, Sandy went into a market on the north side of Gardiner, on the north edge of the park, and found some more items, with cheaper prices!).

We stopped and looked for bighorn sheep on the way in, with no success. There was, however, an elk watching the people go by below Mammoth ... playing statue beside the road.

After unloading the car at our residence in Norris, we (finally!) took our new bikes for a ride around the housing area. Good little spate of exercise; boy, am I ready for that knee replacement!

We also discovered, on a closer look at the schedule and discussion with the boss and my co-worker, that my tour of duty is done at noon on Thursday, rather than Friday night. So, we will head on out and try to make it to the Salt Lake City area before we pack it in Thursday night. That should give us a fairly easy day back to Cortez ... and Scooby Doo ... on Friday. In turn, that will give us an extra day before heading out again, this time to Ghost Ranch. tv (This is a delayed post for June 1.)
