Busy Day !

We are back from our Yellowstone trip and happy to bask in the friendships and sunshine of this beautiful area of Colorado.   We arrived in time to attend the Mancos art show in Cortez yesterday evening.  It was well  done and such a wide variety of talent representing Mancos. A fun time with good eats too!   Tom awoke early this morning and I sipped coffee and tried to awake as we drove to the Cortez Farmers market .   What a great first day of the season they had.  We came home with a variety of salad greens, spelt bread(new to me, but very good),radishes and one very large hanging begonia plant.  After that we visited the Rec Center for a workout and a swim.   After two weeks of too little meaningful exercise it felt good. Mid afternoon we drove to the Riverfest in Dolores (stopping for a visit with the area's newest donkey baby( what are they called??) which gave us some very interesting photography(both the donkeys and the Riverfest).  The music was rock, the crowd was huge and there was at least one large dog for every two people. The crowd of all generations was colorful and mood was relaxed and the event appeared to be a great success.     For dinner Tom cooked burgers on the grill and some big ,delicious  artichokes. Dining on the patio felt like  just maybe summer has arrived !  It was a busy day and, as amazing  as Yellowstone was, it was good to be back home.  sf                                                                                                                                                                                                                 P.S. The last picture is of two lone boaters going down the Dolores River.(Perhaps escaping that big crowd at the Riverfest??)
